Fall Men’s League Week 3 Report
Despite missing their team’s top 2 players, Team Porcello imposed their will on Team Sterling for 39 minutes. Darren Trautmann harassed them on defense, and Steve Huber destroyed them on offense. For 98% of the game, Team Porcello completely controlled the tempo, and pace of the game. Every time Team Sterling made a run, Team Porcello found a way to throw up a road block. Whether it was Steve hitting a step back jumper, or Darren smashing the boards, Team Porcello seemingly had the answers all night. That was until the final minute. Team Sterling, behind the pure stubborn will of Tyler Hay finally found a way to not only tie up the game, but to take the lead. Not easily dismissed though, Darren Trautmann was able to get ball and force his way to the free throw line with only 10 seconds left to play for Team Porcello. With the pressure on, he nailed both free throws to tie up the game at 83 all. What happened next, can only be attributed to Tyler’s complete hatred of losing. With precious few second left, he drove the ball into the lane and muscled up the game winning shot to steal the game 85-83 for Team Sterling.
