In a major upset, 5th seeded Team Ashe derailed our #1 seed, Team Austin, to clinch a berth into to the Spring League Championship. On paper, Team Austin stood to wipe the floor with Team Ashe, even missing a few of their key players. Through the first half, that is exactly what it looked like, as Austin Porcello and his squad opened up a 15 point lead. Scoring an easy 33 points before halftime, Austin was proving to be just too much to handle. His squad had this game tied up nicely with a bow. The only problem, was nobody told Team Ashe’s players the game was over. A team filled with tenacious competitors, that has no idea what the meaning of quit is. Tying the game up multiple times, Victor Sviridyuk, and Christian Leider began chirping at Team Austin on every possession. Like gnats swarming around your head, the boisterous duo began to crawl under the skin of their competition, stealing away an 80-77 victor. Thus, solidifying themselves as one of the top two teams in the league.
