Winter Men’s League Report Playoffs
Coming into his game tonight, Dawson Porcello wore the crown as the Bellevue Club’s Winter Men’s League Scoring Champion. His performance certainly lived up the billing, as he dropped a cool 50 points on Team Barnard. His teammate, Cole Mitchell, scored 40 points right behind him. Now, normally when a team is able to score 100 points with only two players, they easily win the game. That is of course when you don’t face someone with the capability of scoring 75 points in 40 minutes of action. Which is exactly what Quin Barnard was able to do for his squad. Swishing 3 after 3, Quin made Team Porcello pay for any and all mistakes. Every turnover, loss ball, or missed shot resulted in the basketball somehow finding Quin and splashing in for 3 points. Behind sharp shooting like that, few teams will be able to slow down Team Barnard. The one team that could be up for the challenge is Team Bacon. A squad who earlier this season held Quin to his lowest scoring output of the winter. Unfortunately for Quin and his team, that is precisely who they play next week in the Semi-Finals.
