Fall Men’s League Championship Report
Coming into the Championship teams Porcello and Bacon had been displaying offensive fireworks all season. Neither team had scored fewer than 85 points in a single game in over 2 months. A betting man would easily have put this game in the mid 90’s to 100’s. Like many bets though, that man would have been wrong. This game came down to defense, pure tough exhausting defensive. The opposing squads had to nearly kill themselves for every basket. Every man was accounted for, and every back door cut was shut down before it could get started. From the most unlikely of places the game began to turn with about 6 minutes to go as Will Locke, and Darren Trautmann took their games to another level. Behind Will’s two stunning blocks and Darren’s unadulterated will, Team Porcello finally started to separate themselves from Team Bacon. With a final score of 73-64, Team Porcello crowns themselves, the Fall League Champions.
